Selected Projects
A sample of hardware and systems work from Stream Server Laboratories. Additional project types are available on request.
Communication Coprocessor
Challenge. A customer needed a dedicated communication coprocessor to offload protocol and data-path work from the main system processor.
Our Work. We designed and brought up the coprocessor hardware and supporting logic so it could exchange data cleanly with the host system and run the required communication functions.
Outcome. Delivered a working design ready for integration into the customer's product.
Software Defined Radio Board
Challenge. An aerospace program needed a Software Defined Radio board built around an NXP Layerscape LS1043 processor with a Xilinx (AMD) FPGA for flexible RF and signal processing.
Our Work. We developed the board electronics around the LS1043 and Xilinx (AMD) FPGA, including the interfaces and bring-up needed to support SDR operation in the aerospace context.
Outcome. Delivered a working SDR board ready for integration and further system validation.
Signal Integrity Simulations
Challenge. A space program needed signal integrity analysis on a high-speed design before layout and fabrication decisions were locked in.
Our Work. We ran signal integrity simulations on the critical nets and interfaces, then used the results to guide layout and termination choices.
Outcome. Provided simulation-backed recommendations that supported a cleaner path to a working high-speed design.
Aerospace / Defense
Obsolete Part Replacement
Challenge. Production boards for aerospace and defense programs, built around a Xilinx (AMD) FPGA, depended on components that were obsolete or becoming unavailable, putting continuity at risk.
Our Work. We identified suitable replacements around the Xilinx (AMD) FPGA design, updated the schematic and layout as needed, and supported bring-up of the revised board.
Outcome. Delivered an updated design ready for continued production use.
